Friends of School

The Friends of School held their Annual General Meeting in October where a new Committee was formed. We also said goodbye to some of our long term friends but we welcomed some new faces.

Below is a list of the current Friends Committee:

The Friends of North Duffield School regularly meet to discuss fundraising ideas. This is to allow access to essential equipment and materials that the school budget does not cover. If any parent or carer has any suggestions for future fundraising activities or wishes to comment on past events, please speak to a member of our Committee or email us at

We welcome all feedback and new members / volunteers on the Committee.
The Friends of North Duffield Community Primary School are a committee from the community that help raise funds for the school. Over the past few years they have held fairs, quizzes and other events, and have purchased much needed books for the library, equipment and furniture. If you would like to be on the committee, or help with any events, please contact any of the committee members – your help would be gratefully received!

Members of the Friends Committee now have ID badges, so we can be easily identified at any school events.

  • Emma Burnett - Chair

Hi my name's Emma Burnett I'm married to Jonathan and we have two daughters Olivia and Grace who both attend the school, I've lived in the village since 2008. For the last 11 Years I've worked for Tesco doing a variety of management positions around the store, before that my partner and I ran a pub for over 4 years near Birmingham. I have just recently taken over as chair for friends of school, I know it's a hard position but very rewarding, I've know I've got a great team around me all wanting the same thing and that's to raise plenty of money to put back into the school. In my spare time I love reading, watching movies and socialising with my family and friends, which is why I joined the committee in the first place as I wanted to meet new people and become involved within the village.

  • Katherine Honeywood - Vice Chair

Hi, I’m Katherine Honeywood and I have been on the school committee for 3 years. My role now is as Vice Chair and School-Committee link. I am happily married and have 2 girls aged 15 and 12 who both attended North Duffield Primary School but have now moved on to Barlby High School. I have lived in the village for 14 years and 6 of those years I’ve worked as a TA at the school. In my spare time I enjoy walks in the moors with my family and socialising with family and friends.

  • Simone Fox - Secretary

I've lived in the Village for 7 years. Previously I lived in London and worked first as a professional ballet and contemporary dancer and then moved in to retail where I worked as a manager for both Next and Gap. I moved to York in 2000 and after working for Lacoste as a visual merchandiser I now work at the Jug and Bottle, a deli / off-licence / cafe in Bubwith. I have 2 children, Ronnie (7 years) and Lily (2 1/2 yrs). I'm married and we have a beagle called Frankie.

  • Jen Mayne - Treasurer

We have lived in the village since 2009. I have worked at Fera for 14 years. In my early career I specialised in entomology but in 2012 I made the move from cockroaches to students, helping to establish Fera's apprenticeship scheme. For the last year I have managed a team of 11 analytical chemists. We have one child in the school, and all being well our second will join in September 2016.

Friends can be contacted through school or please feel free to see any member of the committee in the playground.
