Class 1

Welcome to Class 1

We are the Early Years team with a class size of 19 children. Our teacher is Miss Williams, our HLTA is Mrs Oswald and our Teaching Assistant is Mrs Hemingway.

Whilst we observe social distancing we are operating our own class timetable as follows;

Morning Drop Off - 8.45am to 8.55am
Morning Break - 10.30am to 10.45am
Lunchtime - 11.40am to 12.30pm
Afternoon Break - 1.35pm to 1.45pm
Hometime - 3.15pm

In Class 1 we follow a creative early years curriculum guided by the children's interest. We encourage the children to learn through play both indoors and out. The children's learning is continued at home and celebrated within the school.

We want to make sure that your child's first experiences of school are happy and positive. With this, we want to make sure that right from the start it is a positive relationship and that you feel confident that you can come to us with any little niggles and feel that we are all working together for the same reason.

Please watch the video below that shows you our classroom and how we are handling social distancing. As you can see the tables are set out in rows however we still have the areas around the classroom for the children to learn in. As they move between the areas, the children will be washing their hands.

Class 1 - New Starter Information

We would normally hold a welcome evening for all parents to find out information about the school and how it is run, however due to the current circumstances we haven't been able to do this. Below is a PowerPoint that includes information you need to know for your child starting with us.  If you have any queries, please contact school.  Our staff will be happy to help.

We have also included PowerPoint's that have up to date information for how we deliver Phonics in EYFS as well as the reading system that is in place at North Duffield.
All about me booklet

We are very excited to meet all of our new starters who will be with us in September. In order for us to learn a little bit more about you, we would like you to fill in this short 'All About Me' booklet and bring it in with you in September. Miss Williams has filled in a booklet all about herself to give you some ideas.

In addition to this, we would like you to bring in 1 family photo that you are happy to have displayed in our classroom. Finally, in order to show off your amazing talents and creativity we would like you to bring in a pebble that best represents you, these will be called our 'Pebble Pals' and can be decorated any way you want. Please can these be brought in for the first day in September.
