Science Council

 
The Science Council meet every week to discuss how we can raise the profile of Science and scientific enquiry across school. 
 
Each class has representatives on the Science Council who bring to meetings ideas from the whole school.

Science Potion Design Competition
 
We had over 60 entries with 2 winners from each class. The children had to design a potion and explain what it would be used for. 
 
Each winner won a Science book (kindly donated by Usborne Books).
 
Science Week 2018
 
We had a week long full of science based activities where everyone from EYFS to Y6 were involved. 
 
Activities included:
 
 
Sessions with a real-life witch from Hogwarts to make potions.
 
Workshops given by Askam Bryan Zoo which included holding animals from around the world. 
 
An afternoon of talks and demonstrations from parents who work with science.
 
A practical science afternoon - the children were split into mixed aged groups and went around to a variety of different fun and practical experiments.
