Welcome to Class 1
We are a mixed class of Reception/EYFS and Year 1 children. Our teacher is Mrs Atkinson, who is also our SEND Lead and part of our Senior Leadership Team. Our HLTA is Mrs Horne and covers the class on Wednesday afternoons and Thursday mornings. Our TAs are Mrs Elston, Mrs Honeywood and Mrs Barrow. All of our HLTAs and TAs in class 1 are SEN trained.
Morning Drop Off - 8.50am to 9.00am
Lunchtime - 11.45am to 1pm
Home time - 3.30pm
PE Days - Monday and Friday
Library Book Change Day - Wednesdays
Homework - Tuesday
Curriculum
The Early Years Foundation Stage follow a creative EYFS Framework guided by the children's interest. We encourage the children to learn through play both indoors and out. The children's learning is continued at home and celebrated within the school.
We want to make sure that your child's first experiences of school are happy and positive. With this, we want to make sure that right from the start it is a positive relationship and that you feel confident that you can come to us with any little niggles and feel that we are all working together for the same reason.
Year 1 follow the National Curriculum for Literacy and Numeracy. Within this, we use the Literacy Counts scheme for literacy and NCETM for maths. For the foundation subjects we use the Kapow Scheme of work.
